Many of you know about our last few years’ trips to Managua Nicaragua to facilitate a 24/7 Dads Training Program. In total the men were able to:

  • Lead 50+ men in learning how to be better dads
  • Trained 30+ women in the Understanding Dad program.
  • Taught 45 leaders on how to share the 24/7 Dad program in their communities
  • Lead a discussion with 20+ girls on how to best choose their future husband
  • Helped build a new learning center for the girls
  • Prayed healing prayers and saw healings. Used the gift of knowledge on the way speaking into a woman’s life and even rebuked a spirit of pornography in a man on the way back.

This year we’ve been called back to continue the 24/7 Dads training and to introduce a new training. Its a daunting task, but we know we can do it with your help and God’s direction. We’re going back to Nicaragua from October 27th – November 3rd, 2018 with the Christ Church Missions Team and Forward Edge International (FEI) ministries. Our plan is to:

  1. Continue to connect with the men through baseball
  2. Complete the second level training with men connected to women at the villa including workers, the girls’ dads and brothers.
  3. Assist some women to teach the complementary Understanding Dad Training to the wives of the men being trained.
  4. Train Pastors in the area

Nicaragua is second only to Haiti as the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Children and families served by Forward Edge teams to Managua come from extremely impoverished and dangerous environments, including life inside a city dump. The dump is now closed but many men still have challenges being committed to family. This hopelessness is still leading to destroyed families. The living conditions often leave children severely malnourished, neglected and abandoned, with a high risk of physical abuse, sex trafficking, rape, and teen pregnancy.

Forward Edge teams to Managua work on projects at schools and churches in poor communities, serve at feeding programs, and pray with suffering families. Villa Esperanza is Forward Edge’s home for at-risk girls. At the Villa the girls receive care, food, medicine, protection, education and spiritual training provided by Forward Edge and its mission-minded donors.

Each team member is responsible for raising the cost of the trip. The cost is $825 plus airfare to partner with Forward Edge. We are planning on bringing 10 men so I’m raising money for all of us plus the cost of the training materials and various marketing efforts. We have to make the first payment to secure airfare by 07/15/17. The second payment is due by 08/05/17 to pay our partner, Forward Edge, so they secure accommodations, food, ground transportation, translators, preparatory materials and staff. The cost to do this with 10 men is $17,500. I pray you would like to partner with us as we prepare to go. You can make a donation here by credit or debit card.

Here are the prayers we need from you all as well:
1. Pray for the right men to be lead to come
2. Pray for increase of faith in the men going
3. Pray for a deeper walk for the men going
4. Pray for the Nicaragua to experience peace between the government and its people
5. Pray the dads to hang in there and stay connected to the family
6. Pray for the 150 Pastors who will spread the 24/7 Dads training all across Nicaragua.
