We needed a way to connect with the men of the church and softball was it. We had tons of men out there joining in with us. We put together two mixed teams and the ballgame commenced. Deacon Barry pitched a number of strikeouts mostly by outwitting his components with mind games and jokes on the mound. I though was able to overcome his mind games and hit about 7 for 8 at bat. Deacon Barry was not too happy with me. LOL Jerry, Zach Norman had great games and all were happy no-one pulled a hamstring even though it came close with Zach.
Surprisingly the girls from the Villa showed up and we played another game of baseball with Deacon Barry pitching two full games. He was a trooper. At the end we invited all the guys to come to the training. Only 1 guy did not show up the first day. Fathers and boys came out that first day. We were set to have 10 men come from that church. Instead we at this point have 23. We were overwhelmed with the response. Praise God!
